So after a tough few months the lockdown rules are becoming more relaxed and travelling is allowed. We saw this as a perfect opportunity to have a much needed few days away. This was a last minute decision and within 1 hour we were on the road heading towards the cabin in the woods at the Veluwe national park.
We found this luxury accommodation on AirBnB (click on this link for a 34 euro discount on your first reservation). We were very fortunate to get a last minute deal. The cabin is located in the centre of the Veluwe region. The Veluwe national park is voted by the Dutch people as the finest area of scenic beauty in the country.
If you are looking for..
Wildlife, forests and beautiful natural landscapes then this is the place to go. There is the opportunity for hiking, cycling, enjoyable roads to drive and areas where you can just chill and take in the surroundings.
We stayed here for two nights making the most of the beginning of June. Both mornings we were awoken to the sound of birds chirping and the sun streaming through the windows. I can guarantee this will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
A short walk down the road will find yourself in the heart of Vierhouten. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to places to eat. You will also find a very well equipped supermarket if you prefer to cook something yourself at home.
We recommend taking a short walk to the nearby field. Take a seat, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset whilst listening your favourite playlist. This was a highlight of the trip for us.
Overall if you are looking for a quiet weekend away and something amazing then check out this cabin in the woods.
